Default Vista and Office 2007

The Office 2007 package that came with my computer says its a trial version only, and it has expired after the 30 days unless i can enter a legit serial numer into the popup window of starting each program. My family really needs Word for work and school, but i dont think we should actually have to buy Word, let alone any of the Office programs, they have always been free, so what do i do now, the office package was preinstalled so i dont have a CD case for serial numbersor anything, so the only options i feel i have right now are find an illegal serial number or buy it, so any help on this situation? or should there be like a serial number on the tower or something?...

I think you're going to have to buy it.

Alternatively, you could use a free office suite, like OpenOffice.

Yeah if you dont want to fork out for Office 2007, OpenOffice is your best bet. You can get Office 2007 fairly cheap though.

I don't like the idea that "i dont think we should actually have to buy Word, let alone any of the Office programs"

uh, if it costs something and you want it, buy it.

try an actuall freeware app...
or get MS Works 8.0 or something, $50 max
