64bit because of the processor

The AMD Athlon 64 X2 4400+ is the cheapest Toledo core dual core 64 bit CPU.

Thanks Peter for the speedy reply. Is there going to be any increased software/driver incompatibilities for 64bit more so than 32bit? It not, I'll grab the 64bit version.

Cheers
Matt

actually there is a restriction, your processor would run better at 64 bit and might not run at 32 bit.

Yeah I am fighting the urge at the moment, I know I'll have to upgrade sooner or later.

Id get the 32 bit version, drivers and apps may not work under 64bit your processor will work just fine under vista 32bit version. The only problem then is in future if your a gamer and want more ram say 4gigs+ then you will need vista 64bit edition as 32bit only recognises up to 4gigs.

Hello,

I also agree. Since you've got a 64 bit processor you may as well get Vista x64. It has better security features compared with the 32 bit version, when combined with your processor.

It would probably be a wise idea to make sure that there are 64 bit Vista drivers available for all your hardware before you purchase it though.
