Default Vista Business (Media Center Question)

Ok, I'm getting ready to build my new pc and I bought Vista Business. I know, I know, I should have got Ultimate or Premium or something, but I got Business through my school for about $70.

I'm planning on using my computer as my media center at college (I'm getting a TV tuner for it and everything). I realize that Vista Business does not come with Media Center, so my question is, are there comparable pieces of software to run my tuner on. It's going to be hooked up to a cable connection.

Also, are there any suggestions on a really good tuner?

haupage tuners are s'pose to be the best. tuners normally come with there own software which you can use. sorry I don't know of any windows compatible mce's except the preinstalled OS versions you could always create a new partition and use linux
