Default Video codec question

First off, I aint sure if this is the right place to ask this, if it is, I'm sorry.

Regardless, I record footage of NES and SNES games off my emulator, and I've been wondering...

What's the best Codec to use while I'm recording my game footage?

Thanks in advance you guys

Use this app with their .avi file saving method. I dont know what codec it uses but .avi files are easy enough to find codec for that anyone can get them.

Well I should've stated the emulators I've got record the game directly from the emulator itself.

But I'll keep that in mind, thanks you guys

Well then you will have to go to a site that is more dedicated to things of this nature. Emulators are not the most legal of subjects so we cant discuss them here. But you would be better off going to a site that specializes in that stuff. Like

NESVideos / Front Page

I am sure they have a answer there for you.
