URL doesn't work, but IP address does
I upgraded from Win XP Home to Pro. Now I can't use URLs. Instead of "google.com" I have to type in "192.108.42.209" (or whatever. What the heck would cause this? It worked fine in Home.

No DNS server specify, check the TCP/IP setting or open up command prompt and type ipconfig /all
Give us more information to work with here. Are you behind a router? Connected driectly to the ISP device? What type of Internet?

Turns out
it was a problem with the ISP (charter communications). Apparently they fixed a problem on their side, and we're ok now. Thanks.
