Default upgrading to XP Pro

Hello
Here is my situation hopefully someone can help.

I want to install Windows XP Pro on a Toshiba laptop that came with Home edition
Now before I go ahead and reformat the laptop and install XP Pro I have some concerns about some of the software and utilities that the laptop came with.
Obviously if I install XP Pro everything on the laptop will be lost. I was wondering how can I preserve some of the things that the laptop came with such as
1)Toshiba blutooth utilitites with Wireless File transfer and Info Exchanger
2)Intel PROset Wireless
3)Inter Video WinDVD.

The laptop came with a recovery DVD do the individual utilities that came originally on the laptop would be located on this DVD?

Greatly appreciated,
