Have you tried uninstalling the Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 Service Pack 1 in Add or Remove Programs in the control panel?

The software should still install with .NET 2.0 SP1. If not you should get a updated version of the software as .NET 2.0 SP1 is a must have update.

Does it not work with 2.0 SP1? It should be compatible.
But if for some reason, it's not compatible, you can have multiple versions of .NET installed at the same time. They intentionally created it that way. You should be able to have 2.0 SP1 and the previous 2.0 version installed side by side.
you don't need an earlier version of an updated program to install programs. just hit proceed
