| I am trying to turn off my Firewall on my home PC. I’m running Windows XP sp 2. When I go into Security Center I see my Firewall, Automatic Updates, and Virus Protection are all ‘on’. However, if I click on the Firewall link at the bottom, a window pops up with the ‘off’ radio button already selected. This seems a little strange to me. I tried S/S the Firewall/ICS service through Services and that didn’t work. The reason I want to turn off my Firewall is because I am unable to connect to the Shared drive at work from home and would like to test if my Firewall is causing the problem or not. How do I turn off my Firewall? Thanks |

| Ultra Techie | Another way is to go to your network connections. Right click on the one you use and go to Properties. Click on the Advanced tab. You will see options for Windows firewall there. See if that works.

| Start>Run>Services.msc When that loads scroll down to Windows Firewall and turn it off and make sure it doesnt start up automatically. That will take care of it for you. |
