Default Trouble Reformating

Hey, I'm currently using Windows Vista but im trying to reformat and install WinXP Pro.

Problem is when I change my bios to boot from CD all i get is "no cd found, insert OS CD and hit enter". Nothing is wrong with my CD because I can put it in and browse it and see the "Install Windows XP" option(though its blacked out) and other options like "perform other tasks".

So I know its not my CD or my CD/DvD Drive since I can read the CD...

Any idea on what I should do?

Are you 110% positive that the CD is bootable? Just because you can view the CD from within a OS doesnt make it bootable. From the error you are getting it is not bootable.

You can try using GParted or one of the other tools listed in our Read First topic under the Recommended software for Certain Tasks.

It is most likely the result of your CD not being burned right (and therefore not bootable as Mak said).

Make sure to burn it as an image and that it is bootable, then tell us what the result is.
