Default Too quick BSOD Vista

Hi all, I recently encountered my first BSOD on my Vista Premium computer. I had my pagefile set to 0 MB [and deleted] because I wouldn't need it for RAM. I'm afraid that this caused the BSOD to flash through all the text, and I had no idea what caused the problem since the entire blue screen lasted 0.5 seconds before my computer restarted. I've tried looking for C:\Windows\Minidump and C:\Windows\Memory.dmp, and neither of those exist. Even the System log in Event Viewer doesn't show anything, and neither does Problem Reports and Solutions. Nothing showed up on the screen saying "Windows has recovered from ...". Any ideas on how I could find out what went wrong? I have a presentation soon, and a blue screen would be humiliating.

Thanks in advance!

Well first of all set your pagefile back to normal (probably around 1-2 GB should be fine) Second of all the BSOD would have disapeared so quick as you may have 'restart automatically on system failure' checked. Right click my computer and go properties. Go to the advanced tab, then start up and recovery. Make sure that 'Automatic restart' is not ticked and next time a BSOD happens you will be able to write down what error you are getting.

Hello,

Right click on Computer>Properties. On the left side click Advanced System Propterties. In there under the startup and Recovery click Settings. Turn off the option to auto restart on system failure. That will prevent the BSOD from flashing.

As for the pagefile, unless you run 64 Bit with 8GB of RAM. Leave it on. At least with 2048MB on it.

Cheers,
Mak
