Anything to do with messing with the registry is risky. One false move and boom you are done. Personally i dont care if my PC starts in 3 minutes or if it starts in 2 minutes. It starts. So if you try this jsut know that it is risky period. Messing with the registry is not recommended even among those of us who know it best.
Plus i highly doubt that will work. The reason it takes so long to boot....all the start up apps you have and all the drivers, services and everythign else it has to load.

I have left 2 PC's on for over a year now. It costs me less to run these 2 PC's year round than to run my PS2 and Wii for 6 months. So it does not cost high energy bills.
