I am looking for some free software that can tell me my specs of the memory which I have in my PC. For instance, the make, how many pins, size, type....etc. Is there something out there that can do that?
I tried that but it doesn't tell me the brand, number of pins. It just tells me that it's sdram, dimm and 256 MB. Does it tell me the brand and the # of pins using everest? Some place i'm not noticing? IF so, please tell me were it is located.

It can't tell you what's the brand because it can't read the sticker on the RAM. It will only tell you enough information like the module, type of ram and how much capacity. From that information you can pretty much know what it is.
I have a 256 mb 168 pin sdram in my compaq presario 7360. I am just curious if it would work in my newer hp vli8 p3 400 processor without checking it manually. It's too much of a pain to do it manually if not compatible. Do you think it would work?
