bomt697 True Techie Join Date: May 2003 Posts: 154	Sound stop working, please help For some reason, the sound on my pc (windows xp pro sp3 and windows 7 beta) stop working. I didnt install any new software or hardware. One min its working and the next its not. I've checked the drivers and connections, they both seem to be fine. I tried the speaker on my macbook pro and they work, so it cant be the speakers. Can anyone recommend any way i can fix this? thanks alot __________________ if it was up to me, my sound system would be worth more then the latest and greatest comp. -intel mobo -intel quad core -g.skill 2gb x2 -samsung 500gb hd -evga 8800 gtx -b-enspire sound card -thermaltake 750watt psu -logitech Z-55oo speakers

How old is the sound card? Was there any smoke or anything coming from the PC? Could the sound card have blown?

Have you tried to remove the drivers and reinstall them?

Have you uninstalled/reinstalled drivers like Mak directed?
