Ok, i got an ecs board. It has integrated sound. I installed the drivers, they are configured correctly in the device manager, and they are enabled. Yet when you go to control panel and go to sound, it says there is no sound hardware installed. So i decided to disable the integrated in bios and install a working sound blaster audigy out of my other pc, same exact thing, drivers are installed and all, still says no hardware installed.

Bad board, I'd say. I'd return it or get a new one from the manufacturer.
Something like this happened to me when my current PC was new. It knew the sound was installed, however, but wouldn't play anything. Took it back the next day and got a new board and had it back by the end of the week, working excellently.
