Default Sound device?

Basically, the sound on my computer is not working...because it doesnt detect the audio device on my computer but when i install the sound drivers it works again..temporarly..if i restart then the sound device isnt detected again and i have to repeat the process..I ran a virus scan and cleaned the computer of any infection but the virus scan on (house call trend micro) said that I hadnt installed vital updates to my system..so i tried running windows update..when i ran windows update the bar just keeps going and all it does is tell me to wait while its loading..so i cannot update....any ideas?

Looks like you need to contact HP Online help... They will ftp you to the servers for the correct Sound drivers that you need. HP sometimes has crappy driver support on the HP website... That is the direction that I would take....
