maybe try making the boot.ini looking like this:
[boot loader]
default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(2)\WINDOW S
[operating systems]
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(2)\WINDOWS="Micro soft Windows XP Home Edition"

why the **** does it put the "S" in a new line? i didn't put it like that

did you change anything? the boot.ini perhaps?

well Windows XP has a backup copy of the boot.ini file, maybe it's used the backup of the boot.ini
