Default service pack 3 help

My computer won't install Windows service pack 3. It installs part of it then I get an error message telling me it will not be completely installed.

Do you already have SP1 or SP2? I believe you need to install SP2 before SP3.

Good question. I have my automatic updates to automatically update so I assume I would have it. Is there a way I can check or should I just download them to be safe?

In that case you probably have it. To make sure though, press the windowskey+pause/break. That'll bring up the System window, it'll say there.

This should cover most errors that you may encounter.

When you try to install Windows XP Service Pack 3, you receive the error message "Access is denied" or "Service Pack installation did not complete"
