unable to open norton one button checkup or microsoft baseline analyzer. receiving following error messages. - "an error has occurred on this script on this page

and what happens when you click yes? it should just let you do what you were trying to do.

go to internet settings and deselect "notify me of errors" or something like this

you are probably missing the XML parser.
Please download a new copy from the location below, install it and run MBSA
again (you don't need to reinstall MBSA after reinstalling the parser):

i did in fact install msxml.msi. what do you mean by ' run mbsa'?

ignore the last part. reinstall the xml parser. MBSA is microsoft baseline security analyser. If reinstall of xml parser doesn't work, run MBSA again after reinstall of XML parser.
