Default SBS Preium and Windows Terminal server

One of my clients has a contracted a software company to install software, they need a version of SQL server on there server, sooooo.. the software company thought its a good idea to switch over to Small biz server pre. since it comes with SQL server 2005 workgroup edition to save some money, as well as already spend tons of cash on a new box. My question is will SBS work with an other server on the net.? I have a terminal server on the network running... i think windows server 2003 standard x64.. and about 5-10 people from around the US connect to that while there on sales trips. so its important that it stays up.
