The roaming app data on vista has become corrupt. The problem occurred after I restarted the system after uninstallation of quicktime. When I try to open the roaming appdata folder in windows explorer I just get a message that the folder is corrupt.

You are in some serious trouble as that is the main location for all programs to store their profile data. The only hope you have, is a Restore Point.

I have fixed the problem without completely reinstalling windows. Since the appdata was only corrupted on one username creating another solved the problem.

I figured you had tried that already. Which is why i said what i did. Creating a new profile and trying to export the old data is always the first measure taken in problems like this.

First time i dont ask the question and it turns out would have been the answer.
