Default restarting windows

I have an old computer witha AMD Duron 1000mhz with 128mb of ram. The hard drive is 40GB and the graphics card is a Riva TNT2 model 64. The problem i have is when i have to restart the computer after installing new software the computer doesn't. I have installed XP,updated the graphics driver drivers and tried a different hard drive and graphics card. Although only a minor glitch i would still like to correct it.

I've had this problem on nearly the same specs as yours a long time ago.
My problem was I have a Logitech Optical mouse and it's software and drivers (of all things) this had been my culprut!
I learnt later on that I needed to update my drivers from logitechs website to xp drivers as my driver CD supported up to Win2K at that time.
I hope that helps
