Default reinstalling windows

hi there..
i want to rinstall windows , byt at the same time i want to keep my data and my software, any idea how how can i do that ?

you can do a repair install.

Just boot up from the Windows CD, and then press "R" to repair the OS.

Otherwise, buy some CDs/DVDs, and get ready to backup!

see someone told me i can creat a partion and back up everything on there..then do a destructive reinstall then copy my software from my backup..can i realy do that and how

you can't backup your software settings.

You can backup your music files, documents, favorites, etc.

If you are running XP PRO, it has a back-up utility, but i havent used it.

so the best thing i can do i copy everything on cds....hmm..
