Exclamation Reinstalling Windows

How much faster will Windows go if i move it to my 111 gig drive instead of my 40, the 40 has 38 gigs on it and the 11 has 34. Is it worth it to switch?

i doubt you will notice a difference. if you were down to 700 or 500 mb of free space, you'd prolly want to consider moving.

run disk cleanup in start menu | accessories | system tools

you can also disable system restore to free space via control panel | system properties.

One of the rules for Windows is that the less space you have on a hard drive, the slower it runs. I've typically liked to keep at least 10% of a hard drive open, for best results.

As far as hard drives go, though, there are many different aspects that affect speed. It's quite possible for a 40 gig hard drive to be quicker than a 300 gig hard drive, depending on rpm, connection type, and format.
