   |  Recommended Software for certain tasks Alright since this question is constantly asked i am making this a thread and i will add it to the index. I want input from you guys as well as to what to add. Conversion of video files to different formats: AutoGK, VirtualDub, AviSynth, DVD Decrypter, mEncoder, FFmpeg, Nero Vision, Convertxtodvd, WinAvi creator, Magic Video Converter Conversion of Audio Files to different formats: EAC, LAME, FLAC, Foobar2000, Abcde Playback of different format files: VLC, GOM Player, Cyberlink PowerDVD, MPlayer, WMP, WinAmp, DivX, Windows Media Player Classic, Foobar (Audio), Media Monkey (audio), XMMS Ripping and other such applications used for backup of media: DVD Shrink, Subrip, Nero 6, Adobe Premiere, Ulead VideoStudio, Pinnacle Studios, Sony Vegas, FLV player, AVInfo, Avidemux, Nero Recode, AnyDVD, DeepBurner Other Audio Applications used for various purposes: Audacity, AudioGrabber, MP3Tag, Tag & Rename, Id3tag, Nero WavEditor, SonicStage, SonicAcid, Reasons, Fruity Loops, Pro Audio, db poweramp (Ripper) Disk Formatting Tools KillDisk, GParted, PowerMax, ERD Commander (If you can find it), Boot and Nuke (AKA DBan), Acronis Disk Director There you have it. A nice list of apps to use for several different purposes. There are not listed in any order nor are they given in any preference. Will not tell you where to get them or how to use them.  Now give your feedback and add to the list.

| Re: Recommended Software for certain tasks How about: Magic Video Converter, it's the best I have personally used for converting almost any type of video file to any other type of video file. MP4 to divx? Sure! FLV to DVD spec MPEG? Yup! You gotta MKV file? It'll do it. Foobar is an excellent, free, low-resources audio player.

| Re: Recommended Software for certain tasks Well now we have an audio program, who uses a video player to play audio nowadays? I haven't found one that does everything well enough to use.
