Default Read-only attributes

i copied read-only files from my cd to My Documents folder. i selected those files, right-click Properties, and unchecked the Read-only box yet the the sub-directory files hadnt been changed, still read-only. Explorer didnt ask me if i wanted to apply the new attribute to subdirectory files. what should i do? i dont like to end up opening those folders and changing the files' attributes in each folder.

you may want to try using a batch file to automate the process. but im not sure how you would be able to enter each directory without listing the names of each directory.

command line command to remove read only attribute: attrib -r *filename*
