Default Question about Spyware

Hi, I have been using adware 6.0 and spybot S&D to find and remove the spyware on my computer. But is there any effective software out there that will "prevent" spyware or adware infection? I installed "spywareGuard", and it seems ok so far. But is that enough to protect my computer?

Also, the spybot S&D restore function is very annoying. It keeps restoring the spyware I removed. Can anyone tell me how to disable the restore function? Thanks

As far as preventative software, I'm using Spy Sweeper right now. It's free when you download it, but you don't get definition updates. It monitors changes in your homepage and favorites. It prevents browser hijacks and tracking cookies.

It also guards against known spyware and unwanted programs in your startup menu.

You can grab it off of www.download.com

Does zone alarm slow down the downloading speed? Thanks
