Default Problems with Disk Scan in XP

Hello, I've been trying to perform scan disk on Windows XP on my C:\

When it finishes the process, it says "Windows is unable to complete the process".

Why is it happening? Any explanations? Thanks for your time.

Default Re: Problems with Disk Scan in XP

Hello,

Is the scan disk being performed while you're logged on to Windows XP?

If so, then try performing a scan disk through the Windows Recovery console (by booting into the Windows Setup Disc, going into the Recovery Console and typing chkdsk x: where x: is the Windows drive) or in Safe Mode.
