Default Problem with icons on the Vista desktop

Does anyone know if this is normal, that there is a thin 1px border on those icons. I looked at a lot of other people's desktop through Google searches and found none like this. How do I change it so it doesn't have those borders?

I think it's an icon compatibility issue.

Well, I remember this occurring sometime after I installed Microsoft Office 2003., but then uninstalled it to see if it would fix the problem.

Ok, I did that and apparently nothing changed with the icons, unless I did something incorrectly. I may try it again.

It could be your background interacting with the icons. What video card do you have and can you run Aero?

This is occuring on my HP laptop that just just bought recently. It has a NVIDIA GeForce Go 7150M card. Since it's fairly new, and I don't have very much stuff on it I might just reboot my computer with my recovery disks. Maybe that will solve the problem.

It could be a driver issue. Have you updated the Video Drivers since you got the laptop? I know that nVidia released some newer drivers recently.
