It is not as confusing as you think!!
I had things in rows and columns with the first Column of letters refering to the OS on the SATA drive and the second being the OS on the IDE drive.
What happened is that when the post went to the preview my columns and rows disappeared !! Anyway, using you suggestion the lettering is as follows :-
When using the Windows XP Media Center OS
Floppy = A:
Disk #1
SATA (Windows XP media center OS on this disk)
C: System Drive
E:\ First partition SATA Drive
Disk #2 (Windows XP Pro OS on this disk)
IDE drive #1 (Master)
G:
Disk #3
IDE Drive #2 (Slave)
H: first partition
I: second partition
J: third partition
DVD-RW = D:
CD-RW = F:
Now when I am using the Windows XP Professional OS
Floppy = A: [stays A: in XP Pro]
Disk #1
SATA (Windows XP media center OS on this disk)
C: [stays C: in XP Pro] System Drive
E: [now becomes F: in XP Pro] \ First partition SATA Drive
Disk #2 (Windows XP Pro OS on this disk)
IDE drive #1 (Master)
G: [now becomes D: in XP Pro]
Disk #3
IDE Drive #2 (Slave)
H: first partition [now becomes E: in XP Pro]
I: second partition [now becomes G: in XP Pro]
J: third partition [now becomes H: in XP Pro]
DVD-RW = D: [now becomes I: in XP Pro]
CD-RW = F: [now becomes J: in XP Pro]
I hope this helps in your assisting me.
Will there be any consequences to my changing the letters as you suggest? Will this not affect the paths to programs/files etc or will that be modified accordingly as I make the changes in the lettering?
As you see, BOTH OS have the same lettering for the system drive (C

so I do not think I will have to worry about changing the lettering of the system drive that I am currently working under.
Thanks again.
