please help me with my speaker setup

ok i am currently running win98 second edition..and i have 5.1 creative speakers..and i change from desktop speakers to surround sound speakers and click apply and ok..go back to it its back on desktop..please help me!

I'm not great with 98. but here is what you do...
start -> cntrl panel -> sound

set all of that to what you want. then click APPLY then OK.

i cant find any tabs other than sound..and thats nothing to do with my creative stuff

i go to ctrl panel and multimedia and switch to surround sound and it switches back after i click apply and ok PLEASE SOMEONE HELP ME!!! i want my pc to sound cool AND look cool!!

Interesting... open your hard ware manager and make sure there is no "!" or "?" there. i really don't know what would cause that.... virus? i doubt it but scan for everything.
