Every time I close outlook 2000, it closes however the outlook.exe process still runs.

On my mums laptop, every once in a while the outlook program shows up on the taskbar for half a second and then disappears. Every time it does this, it stuffs up what you are typing (because it highlights the word you just typed) and is a real pain.

Also, sometimes when you write an email in Outlook, the typing lags a lot.

My mums laptop is a core duo with 1 GB of ram. What could be the problem>\?

If a program like outlook is launching itself seemingly randomly its usually due to a virus, or atleast that would be the first thing i Would check.

Once you've done full virus and spyware/malware scans see if you can download any additional updates for office.
