After installing Office XP i open an application and it ask for the 25 digit CD key again if i click cancel it closes the application and if ienter it it says to close the app and reopen it when i do it asks for the CD key again. if i enter the key it is very limited and i cant even type anything. is it the wrong cd key or what should i do? thanks.

I'd suggest trying a fresh install of Office XP. Remove all the components then try installing it again.

I just did that as we speak and it still does it removed old copy and put a new one in

Hmmmm.... Would this happen to be a legal copy of OfficeXP??

They're starting to crack down on pirating and have found some rather ingenious ways to block it.

the key might not be the this specific copy though

It's hard to believe that this is a valid CD key you have. If it were, i'd doubt it would give you this much trouble. Are you sure it's not a key for another M$ application?

As you have said, the key might not be for the specific version you have... if so, you should contact M$ and explain to them your situation.
