I searched and searched and have found basically two things to do...

-press r at the recovery screen, or

-go into the setup and press r over the selected installation

i tried both and nothing works

i have no idea what is going on anymore

any help would be nice, just tell me what you need to know about my pc

What version of Windows is this? NT, 2000, XP?

This means that the kernel has become corrupt beyond reapir for Windows to boot.

Do a repair install.
