Drumfreakx is on a distinguished road

Default Not sure where to start.

Just finished my rig.
Phenom2 x4 955 BE
4 gigs of ram
vista x64
xfx radeon 4890.

It runs slow.
Firefox always freezes. I try to download the new drivers for my video card and right when the download finishes. it locks up. and it wont go away until I restart.

I don't know what is wrong, is this typical Vista stuff?

I dropped a pretty penny on this rig and havn't had the feeling of satisfaction yet.

~Just tried to download the catalyst 9.9 drivers and it froze for about 5 minutes after it finished. Then it finally let me hit run. Now it's on verifying and I suppose this will take 5 more minutes as well?
Very depressing.

This reminds me of an old problem on my laptop that also had vista. Installs would take forever to load.

~Just tried to download xfire and right when the save option popped up. froze firefox. >=[

With your specs you shouldn't have a problem at all with Vista. Is it only Firefox that causes problems? And like Mak said, make sure you have the correct drivers installed.
