Default A new 320 gb harddrive indicating 120 gb of space

I just finished my new computer and it is working completely fine.
However my new seagate 320 gb is displaying only 120 gb of space total. I suspect it has to do something with XP partioning gone wrong because I had to install XP twice.

Thanks for your help.

Definately could be the partition layout. Try downloading some partition software to just view the layout and see if anything is up. If you don't have partition magic handy (excellent program), try the new Gparted live CD. I haven't used it, but hear it's quite slick.

You can also find if you do have a partition is go into right click my computer, go down to manage. click on storage then disk management and should say how much HDD space you have and if you have any partitions.

Are you sure the BIOS is fully up to date. Thsi sounds like that old problem where the BIOS couldnt recognize anything over 120GB. Might want to check and make sure you do so you will be able to recognize the full HDD.
