I got a disc for Nero 7 when I got a dvd burner last christmas, and had no problems installing it then, or another time when I needed to, but I just recently (like a few weeks ago maybe) reformatted my hard drive and needed to install it again. But last night when I tried, it wouldn't let me open some programs, like Nero Vision.

It says, "Unable to initialize the Nero API, Unspecified Error"

I tried reinstalling it today, but Im getting the same problem. I've checked for updates and it says there aren't any available.

Do you have 'NeroAPI.dll' in the installation folder?

Yeah it's in the "Core" folder, which is in the Nero 7 folder.

Try uninstalling Nero completely (use Nero's clean tool - Nero - Tools & Utilities ), and then use a Registry cleaner to clear any trace. Once that is done cleaning. Reboot your computer. Once you have done all that, reinstall.

No nero programs show up for the Revo Uninstaller program. I haven't tried what 95BlackGA said yet though.

If it doesnt show up in Revo then it sounds like it didnt install correctly.

Ah 95BlackGA I cleared out the Nero folders/files and reinstalled, that seemed to do the trick, I can use it now. Thanks.
