Question MXTask.exe error

I use SystemSuite 3.0 and when I try to apply the "Crash Proof" system protection to my computer is gives me the error message " MXTask.exe has generated errors..." and tells me I need to restart the program. Can anyone tell me how to fix this? Thanks!

Before I re-read your post I thought that the software was system protection that (somehow) crash-proofed your system, making it ironic that it would crash.
Anyway, this sounds like pretty poorly written software. Have you had it working on this system before and have you tried reinstalling it?

Ah, well I don't know if I'd really call this a crash or not... It just gave me an error message and wouldn't let me run the system protection.

Actually this program was already on the computer when I got it. I got this computer from a neighbor who um... wasn't very bright. He couldn't get it to work, so I've been trying to fix it... It's in at least 100 times better condition than it was when I got it.

Actually... SystemSuite is a pretty pricey program... and since it came with this... I'm not sure how to correct the problem... Normally I would just reinstall it... but I love this thing so much I'm not sure if I'm prepared to lose it because other than this one error... I absolutely love this program and have yet to find anything else that I can afford that works better.

- Also, I haven't noticed it having any kind of effect on the rest of my system... or at least nothing that I've discovered yet. If absolutely neccessary (if harmless?) I'm willing to deal with just keeping the error. I dont NEED the system protection it has... I've got other things I can use... Its the other features this program has available that I like so much.

I found this, Ontrack SystemSuite 3.0
Is this the program your trying to use? I did a search and they have a version 4 but it's an old program also. What are the features you like in SystemSuite that makes you want to use it? Maybe we can find a replacement program or 2

Well it is a fairly old program... but the problem is finding a new one with similar to better features that I don't have to pay for. I lucked out and got this one for free because it came with this hunk of plastic and wire. This thing was a huge steamy pile of... well yeah... and this has substantially helped me clean this bad boy up to at least the point where its usable. ^_^

I can back up/restore system files, it has the option of showing my folders and files by size, a defrag, file recovery, can erase my hard drive... registry defrag, clean/fix/edit my registry, customize windows options, whole array of options to help me troubleshoot hardware issues, zip extract/create/self extract/convert/mail/backup/repair, program uninstallation, moving applications, application backup, reinstalling backed up applications, disk cleanup with options to do it yourself, and like 6 versions of the same virus scan. lol That's not it but those are the things I use the most. If you can find me one application that does that, I would <3 you forever. lol
