Default mup.sys

Help - Recently shut down one morning as per normal, then tried to start up that evening. Windows will not load, and in safe mode (all types), it seems to hang on mup.sys. Not a hardware problem, but seems to be a corrupt file get a blue screen of death with something about physical memory...(can't make out all the details it dissapears too fast)...then loops back to the start and the cycle begins again. IBM T43 Laptop - OS is Windows XP.
Any thoughts?
Thanks in advance

you will be in need to Repair Windows !

if you do have important files on the computer you may better do repair ... if you do not have important files you may do Format and start fresh
