MSN Messenger for 64 bit

Hey all,

Just got my new computer and I'm currently installing everything. only problem I'm having is the fact that the new PC is a 64 bit system, and I have to find everything that works on 64bit.

I haven't really looked much, but I can't find MSN Messenger that'll work for me. Oh yeah, I'm running XP pro, not Vista.

Microsoft hasn't supported XP X64 with Live messenger, the older prinstalled version of MSN will work but it is a pain in the *** to use an look nasty, you will have to use pidgen or trillian to have a modern and more featured IM program on XP x64.

you sure? my cousin has the latest version on his system. only problem, he can't remember where he got it, and it took him awhile to find it.

Maybe he ran it in compatibility mode or is lying about having 64bit

Just out of interest what version of it are you useing an what steps did you take to get it working? I was never successful in getting it to install let alone run.

this is the version I'm using, version 2008(build 8.5.1302.1018)
I was doing google searches and found this blog entry:

I clicked on the first link on "Kuppa's" post. it did a quick download and install and it was good to go.
