Default MS Outlook question

When I use outlook 2007 and I send someone an email i tend to keep on typing until i believe it is time to start a new paragraph. After a couple of paragraphs in the email and I am done with everything I have to say, I will then send it to that person.

The issue I am having is when the person responds to me in that email, their sentences and paragraphs are all formatted correctly but when I look at what I wrote it all looks like one big paragraph like the following

"> How is your first couple of weeks of school going?
> What types of courses are you enrolled in this semester?
> Hopefully, you will do well in all and get great grades. What are you
> planning on doing this weekend anything fun? Do you like going to
> movies? If so, what type of movies are your favorite? It looks like
> the Red Sox will get into the playoffs by the skin of their teeth. How
> do you think they will do? It looks like they will be playing the
> Angels. It seems like they play them every year when the playoffs
> come around and always beats them. I hope that is the case this year too."

What causes this and how do I fix it? Do I need to keep my sentences to a certain length and then hit enter so it goes to the next line. I tend to keep on typing and let the software move it to the next line? Is that the reason why?

thx

That is because what you wrote is basically been reformatted by what ever software or service they use and then sent back as a forward.

So depending on if you sent it to a Yahoo, GMail, Live, Hotmail, or other email address any one of them can do this. It could have been done by something like Outlook Express in XP, Windows Mail in Vista, or even Outlook itself.

That is extra line breaks inserted into the email to display properly on their monitor and resolution. They didnt select the option to remove the extra line breaks which is why when then reply back and dont remove the original content you see it displayed that way.

Mak, I understand what you meant by they didn't remove the original content but what do you mean by " They didnt select the option to remove the extra line breaks ".

Where is the option located or am I confusing something which is probably the case?

thx

That option is only available when you are reading the email. Check in Outlook yourself. You will see a Orange Bar underneath the sender (You have to mouse over it). It will state that Extra Line Breaks were inserted to remove them click here.

It is not on all email messages and could very well be only on yours cause of how you write them.

Hmmm, Never noticed that was there before. Thx for showing me that, Mak. Appreciate it.

Not a problem. It is not something common. But it is there.
