Default Movies on a PC vs movies on a TV

I love watching movies on my PC seems to have better screen resolution then my 1080p TV DVD writer does. What is your opinion? Is a PC unable to match a TV DVD for playing movies? Is it equal? or does a PC give better quality?

Probably has something to do with having a graphics card on your PC. That and a smaller screen makes for a crisper picture.

Which one is better will depend on the quality of your monitor vs the quality of your tv. I always watch movies on my tv and think it has much better picture quality than my monitor but my tv is a 65" 1080p DLP and my monitor is a 19" crt.

My monitor definately looks better, but then again its 1920x1200 res compared to my 4 year old 720p tv. Although i'd much prefer to watch it at 42" than 24".
