Default Mouse stops working when I change profile

Hi,
I have two profiles on Windows XP, just recently, when I have logged out of one to go into the other, the mouse has stopped working. It moves, but you cant click anything. The only thing I can do is restart the **** pc everytime. Never encountered this problem, any advice?

Charming, I take it this is a usb mouse? wireless/wired? can you quote the mouse model. Is this a laptop or a desktop system?
