I have recently downloaded and installed "Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 Beta" it seems to have a lot of bells and whistle's, but the main reason I'm testing it is for editing images, but when I go to start a new project I am just dumb founded on where to begin.
any help would be greatly appreciated.

Visual Studio is not for image editing. It is for build programs. You need to get Paint.NET or GIMP for what you want. VS is for creating software with C++ or C#.
