Default Microsoft readying RC of Vista SP2 for February 2009

Citing a source at Microsoft, Techarp has revealed that Microsoft is targeting a release candidate (RC) version of Windows Vista SP2 for February 2009.

Microsoft sent invites to testers in mid October asking them to take part in the SP2 beta. Build 16489 was released to special group of testers in late October but Microsoft has been quiet since then.

TechArp also believes the RTM of Vista SP2 will be in April 2009. Microsoft is readying SP2 so there are additional incentives for customers to upgrade to Window Vista now, instead of waiting for Windows 7.

Microsoft will include Windows Search 4 in Vista SP2 along with Bluetooth wireless support (including latest BT 2.1 fixes), support for the new VIA 64-bit CPU and additional application compatibility updates.

Okay first if you are not going to contribute anything dont post. Responses like this that hold absolutely no merit are not needed. Vista SP1 fixed a ton of issues. SP2 is nothing more than Hotfixes which are already available along with support for Blu-Ray and Bluetooth added in. Stuff that can all be added without SP2 as it is right now.

Please do some research Mr. SEO (Search Engine Optimization) before you make remarks that hold no merit to them.

It took 3yrs. for SP2 to come out for XP so that is rather good news in seeing the next large service pack becomg available since those roll up all updates along with anything new. They come in handy when going to reinstall Windows for any reason rather then waiting for each sepatate item to be downloaded all over again.

Do you think the next version of WMP or Direct x will coming out around then as well? That old ide drive with the problem copy of 11 there was going to see something else but can be set aside for testing any of the beta releases coming.
