Angry ME upgrade to XP SP2 Home edition

Win ME to XP SP2 upgrade
I am totally frustrated with Xp, home edition, because it does not remember my passwords in"internet options dial-up connections". It also effects OE dalup if I am not connected to the internet via other means. I have spent a week browsing for answers. The main one refers to editing the "current_user" registry. BUT, when you reboot, it uses the "user registry info again, so no changes.
I am about ready to forgo the $90 I spent on XP and go back to "ME" unless someone has an answer.
Thanks to those that reply.
Dave

DO a clean install. Boot from the win xp disk, and delete the old partition, then create a new one. Do a regular format, and when you get prompted instert your ME disk. Dont forget to backup your data.

You did make a mistake by upgrading from ME without formatting. Do a clean install and XP should run so much better than ME ever did.
