When I finish installing maya 7.0 and i click on the logo to start up the program it shows the loading screen for maya then it says "fatal error! attempting to save in C:\Local~1\Temp\~1admin......"

I dont know what to do someone please help?

you need to post more info, exactly what happens... does it display anything right before or after it happens... check out teh C:\Local...etc... and see what that file can tell you


you might need to reinstall(or install) video drivers

you might need other drivers...

you could also try and reinstall the program

When I went to my display settings and changed DirectX to openGL and made it high quality also diabling triple buffer IT WORKED after i made those changes. When i open maya another window pops up:
"OUTPUT WINDOW"
Shadow mapping extensions insufficient to support hardware rendering.
mental ray for Maya 7.0
mental ray: version 3.4.5.2, 06 July 2005

What does that mean?

I'd hope you knew... after spending $300+ on maya...

I have yet to delve into that program... I am currently working with Adobe CS2

I assume the windows poping up are different parts of the program initializing...
