Default lock off parts of windows?

is it possible to lock off certain parts of windows like Control Panel, a hard drive under my computer, task manager, and prevent access to those from an explorer window, or atleast require a password to bypass in case I do want to? i want to lock down a machine that others will be using and dont want them screwing with some stuff, thanks!

Start, run, type gpedit.msc and press enter.

Be careful and don't mess things up.

Group Policy Editor (gpedit.msc) in Windows XP Professional
