Have a look at Part 1 and Part 2 of this list of awesome applications that are absolutely free.

Some of the commercial software like Photoshop are so expensive that an average user can not afford to buy it. Lately I am looking for some free or open source alternatives for windows programs and i was amazed with the range of programs available. Here i will list some of the open source or free programs as alternatives to windows commercial programs.

its not... if you like lose your CD, download a new copy but use your old key, its still legal, its just the way you aquire your key that determines the legality of it...

That is true. With Windows it is only illegal to use someone else's serial. If you have your own serial you can downlaod teh software. **** you can get a copy of the disc from Dell or HP, so why not the internet? It is all teh same thing. It is just the serial that we purchase and that we must keep track of.
