Default Knowing the state of computer technology

As a method of knowing what the latest in computer technology is and how much $s it is I have taken to reading the weekly adds for my local computer electronics shops. Don't know if this is the best way to accomplish this, what do forum members think about this method?

Try keeping up with a few technology sites. You'll get more up to date info. For prices, check the major online retailers.

For a great techno site, check out dailyrotation.com. Set your preferences (I use 100 headlines), but don't worry about sources just yet. Once you start checking the site, you'll notice which other sites you're clicking to to read stories/updates/news/reviews. Once you've found several solid sources, and their headline feeds in as well.
