Default Jmicron Driver. How to remove?

I posted on another thread about my slow computer. Reinstalling vista right now...but I noticed that this stupid Jmicron driver is still showing up. Now I am thinking that this maybe the problem. I remember installing it by mistake [was on the mobo cd]

Really don't know what it's for. Guessing its for RAID. Got no RAID at this time.

anyone know if its important?
anyone know how to get rid of it?

Thanks.

There's probably no need to uninstall it.

Your mobo probably has more than 1 sata controller. My mobo has 3. If your not using the JMicron controller just disable it in the bios and the driver won't load up. If you disable it and you lose a drive then you just enable it again.

thanks thats what I did. Not sure if it made a difference. I really don't care about 3 seconds of boot time that I save.

My drive seams to be faster just from reinstalling vista. After I am done with this I'll be an expert.
well almost.

now on to the memory settings in my bios.
